Charlton Athletic are pleased to confirm the signing of promising goalkeeper Prince Adegoke.

The 19-year-old has put-pen-to-paper on a one-year contract, with a club option of an additional year, following a successful trial period.

Adegoke, who arrives at Charlton following a seven-year spell with Chelsea, will now link up with Chris Lock’s U21s while also providing cover for Dean Holden's squad.

The stopper starts this afternoon's clash against Wigan Athletic U21s (KO 2pm BST). Those unable to make it to The Valley can watch all of the action live on CharltonTV -  click here to purchase your CharltonTV match pass.

Technical Director Andy Scott commented: “We’ve been looking to add to our academy goalkeepers this summer, so we’re really pleased to bring in Prince. He’s an excellent talent with real potential and will immediately compete for a place in our U21s side, as well as providing back-up cover for the men’s first-team.”

Born in Farnborough, Adegoke joined Chelsea as an U13 after impressing for Sunday league side Glebe.

He has since progressed through the ranks at Cobham and signed his first professional contract with the club in February 2021.

The stopper won the U18 Premier League Cup with the Blues in 2022 and enjoyed a brief loan spell with Welling United at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

Adegoke also trained with the Premier League side’s first-team goalkeeping group during his time at Stamford Bridge.
