Karen Hills’ Addicks extended their unbeaten pre-season run, after securing an 8-0 friendly victory against National League south side Billericay Town which took place behind closed doors.
The Addicks took an early lead through their first attack, when Heidi Logan broke down the right flank and knocked the ball to Angela Addison, who was there to tuck in her shot from close range.
Moments later Freda Ayisi won back the goal kick she laid the ball to Addison, who came steaming into the box and displayed some impressive footwork, but her shot was saved by the Billericay keeper.
Twenty minutes into the exchanges and after a high press from the Addicks Logan dispossessed the Billericay defender she squared the ball in the box and Addison was there to smash her shot home.
Emma Follis then travelled up on the right edge and struck her shot but, the keeper produced a smart fingertip save to deny the hosts from extending their lead.
It was new signing Mel Johnson who would find the Addicks third after she burst into the 18-yard box one-on-one and beat the keeper with her cool finish.
Billericay did come searching to get their names on the scoresheet but thanks to some well-orchestrated defending the visitors could not find a way through.
Logan then made another quick run down the right flank, she fizzed a cross in low and it was put in the back of the net by a Billericay player.
After the interval Charlton continued on the front foot, Kiera Skeels with her back to goal turned and played a beautiful pass to Tegan McGowan who drilled her shot into the keeper.
Corinne Henson then threaded a ball into Addison who broke into the box and found McGowan who just curled her shot wide.
At the 70-minute mark Addison found space down the left edge she shifted the ball to her right foot she squared the pass to McGowan, the forward turned and buried her strike into the back of the net. Shortly after the Addicks then found space again and added to their lead.
The sun continued to beam down on Sparrows Lane but the hot conditions did not deter Charlton’s momentum and the hosts continued to look threatening in attack, it was Addison again who danced her way through the box and rolled the ball pass the keeper for her hattrick.
Ten minutes from time Billericay then broke down the middle of the park but a good diving save from Poppy Soper meant the Addicks kept their clean sheet intact.
A late foul in the box saw Charlton awarded a penalty and it was 18-year-old McGowan who confidently stepped up and slotted her shot home for Charlton's eighth.
