Midfielder Mia Ross reflected on her recent U23 Young Lionesses call-up as well as offereing her thoughts ahead of the Addicks' Barclays Women's Championship matchup against Sheffield United.
Ross who was a part of the England U19's Euro squad in the summer of 2022 expressed her delight of being named in Mo Marley's February camp:
“I’m buzzing! It just gives me confidence knowing that I’m doing everything right to be selected at the moment it's obviously an honour to be selected for England, especially after all the success of the lionesses it just shows that we can keep pushing now and wanting success."
The 19-year-old midfielder praised the Addicks togetherness after the team recently recorded their eight-consecutive win in all competitions after beating Coventry United 1-0 at the weekend.
“We’re doing really well, we’ve kept quite a few clean sheets as well which is good, but we need to put that in the past now and just keep pushing for results.
I think we’ve got a real togetherness and team environment and that’s extremely encouraging, and I think that shows in our results you know were getting like 93-minute winners 97-minute winners, all the goals that we are scoring actually come in the latter stages of games and it’s just knowing that we’ve got a good group together.”
Karen Hills' side will make the trip to south Yorkshire this Sunday as they gear up to lock horns with the Baldes on Sunday, February 12th at Bramall Lane and Ross is under no illusion that Sunday will bring another tough test:
“I think they’ll be a very difficult team obviously we know that from the last time, we played them. So yeah, they’re a very difficult team to break down but hopefully, our quality can shine through, and we can get the three points.”
