Charlton Athletic are very excited to announce that Sophie Whitehouse has signed a one-year deal.
The 27-year-old has joined the Addicks this summer as part of Hills' plan to strengthen the squad.
Whitehouse shared her feelings on her new contract: "It's really exciting, it's good to be in such professional environment and to get to work."
I have worked with Karen previously and I really like the style of play. Charlton did really well last year and came super close to promotion so I am excited for this year and hopefully getting close and that extra point!"
The keeper is coming to the club with a number of years of experience: "I think it is going to help a lot, I've gotten to be really consistent at games and I'm excited to work with a new bunch of girls."
In coming to Charlton, the 27-year-olds spoke of her aims: "I want to work well with the team and help to get us to a position where we are in contention for promotion snd I think that is everyone's aim so hopefully we can do it together."
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Whitehouse shared her excitement for the league: "The championship is obviously a very competitive league and a lot of teams are recruiting a lot of good players so I'm excited for how competitive its going to be. Every game is so close and it's going to be really interesting as so many teams are pushing for promotion."
Before joining Charlton, Sophie played for Lewes with 31 appearances over the last two seasons. She previously played for Bristol City, Birmingham City and Tottenham Hotspur.
