Charlton Athletic are pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Henderson as Men’s First-Team Goalkeeping Coach.
Henderson, who made 59 appearances for the Addicks across two spells as a player, joins Michael Appleton’s backroom staff having impressed while fulfilling the role on an interim basis.
A former Republic of Ireland youth international, the 35-year-old also made EFL appearances for Bristol City, Portsmouth, Ipswich Town, AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers during his 16-year playing career.
Technical Director Andy Scott commented: “We're delighted to welcome Stephen to the club. He understands Michael's philosophy and has a similar outlook on the game. Just as importantly, he knows the significance of winning for Charlton Athletic having been a player here.
“He’s had an extensive playing career at a good level and we hope that he can have a huge impact with all of our goalkeepers all the way from the first team through to the academy.”
