Charlton's U17s suffered a 3-1 defeat at Chelsea in the Premier League on Tuesday afternoon.
Ellis McMillan opened the scoring at the Blues' Cobham Training Centre, but the hosts turned the game around to claim all three points.
The young Addicks' opener came on 36 minutes when Jack Belton intercepted the ball on the edge of Chelsea’s box and fired a pass into the feet of McMillan, who showed great technique to spin off the centre-back and convert at the near post.
The hosts levelled the scoring on the cusp of half-time as Marcell Washington’s corner fell to Calvin Diakite and he made no mistake from close range.
Joel Philbert gave Chelsea the lead after the restart, sending a cross towards the back post which beat everyone and crept into the far corner.
The Blues rounded off the scoring in additional time with a well-worked team move that saw substitute Sol Gordon tee up Chizaram Ezenwata, who slotted home.
