Charlton’s U18s returned to winning ways with a 2-1 triumph over Cardiff City on Saturday.
Both sides created chances without scoring in what was an end-to-end opening period at Sparrows Lane, but the visitors took the lead on the hour-mark through Tana Jones, who curled into the top-right corner from 20 yards.
The young Addicks’ response was instant as Henry Rylah reacted quickest to rifle the ball home on the angle and restore parity.
Rylah doubled his and Charlton’s tally three minutes from time with another instinctive finish from close range. Toby Bower’s inswinging cross was headed against the crossbar by Nathan Asiimwe, but Rylah was on hand to nod home the winner to complete the Addicks’ turnaround.
Next up for Jason Pearce’s side is a Premier League Cup quarter-final at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, February 4th (12.30pm KO).
