Charlton's U18s came from behind to make it back-to-back victories with a 3-1 success against Colchester United on Saturday afternoon.
Following an end-to-end but goalless first period, the visitors took the lead on 51 minutes through Fela Abidekun, who headed in from a corner.
The young Addicks responded well and levelled the scoring just five minutes later. Jason Pearce’s side hit the U’s on the counter and Emmanuel Sol-Loza drove to the byline, before cutting the ball back across goal for Ellis McMillan to slot into the far corner.
Sol-Loza etched his name onto the scoresheet 12 minutes later as he netted from the spot. Substitute Phoenix Valentine was clipped from behind as he drove into the box and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot, and Sol-Loza duly converted.
With five minutes remaining of the 90, the young Addicks went two goals to the good through Sam Washington-Amoah. The midfielder capitalised on a short back pass and showed a quick burst of pace to knock it past the Colchester stopper before tapping home.
The U18s return to Sparrows Lane on Saturday to host Millwall (KO 11am BST).
