Charlton’s U18s recorded a fifth win on the spin with a 3-0 success over Sheffield United on Saturday.
The Blades were reduced to 10 men within 20 minutes when Zach Giggs was shown a red card.
The young Addicks soon capitalised on their numerical advantage as Micah Mbick broke the deadlock at Sparrows Lane. After latching onto a loose ball inside the 18-yard box, the striker sent a left-footed effort past Ryan Andrews from an acute angle.
Alan Mwamba doubled the Charlton’s lead within eight minutes of the restart. Mbick fed the advancing midfielder, whose fancy feet took him past his marker and he fired into the bottom-right corner.
Substitute Jadon Yamoah added his side’s third on 78 minutes, cutting in from the right flank and sending a stunning, left-footed strike into the top-left corner from 20 yards.
Jason Pearce’s in-form side are next in action on Tuesday when they travel to Ipswich Town.
