U18 REPORT | Charlton 4 Hull City 1

'

Charlton’s U18s continued their impressive run of form with a 4-1 success against Hull City at Sparrows Lane on Saturday.

Micah Mbick, Manu Wales, Ibrahim Fullah and Mikey Berry were all on target for Jason Pearce’s team as they extended their unbeaten run to eight games, seven of which have been victories.

The prolific Mbick opened the scoring on 38 minutes, coolly converting his spot-kick past Archie Howard after Wales was bundled to the floor.

Wales doubled his side’s lead moments later, receiving the ball from Tate Elliott just inside the Hull half and driving towards the 18-yard box before arrowing a left-footed effort into the bottom-right corner.

Mason Johnson headed home on the stroke of half-time to halve the visitors’ arrears.

Fullah restored the young Addicks’ two-goal advantage on 68 minutes, racing onto Mbick’s deft flick and sending a driven strike into the far corner.

Berry added further gloss to the scoreline five minutes from time, reacting quickest to stab home from close range after Howard had palmed away Mbick’s initial strike.

The U18s are next in action on Tuesday, taking on Ipswich Town at Sparrows Lane (KO 1pm).
