Charlton's U18s made it back-to-back wins with a 6-3 victory against QPR at Sparrows Lane on Saturday.
There were four different goalscorers on the day, with Emmanuel Sol-Loza and Ellis McMillan both notably netting braces as the young Addicks prevailed.
However, it was the visitors who took the lead through Philip Sanyaolu's neat finish on 13 minutes.
Jason Pearce’s side responded well to the early setback, levelling the scoring in rapid fashion. McMillan was fed the ball on the edge of the box and beat one defender with a body feint before letting fly on his left and finding the back of the net via a deflection.
Sol-Loza was next to score for Charlton, who took a 2-1 lead into the break. Some neat footwork from the forward allowed him to open up and curl his strike into the far corner, rattling the post on its way in.
The centre-forward claimed his brace just moments after the interval through some relentless pressing from Pearce’s team. McMillan was quick to close down the QPR keeper, forcing him into a rushed clearance which was intercepted by Sol-Loza, who was able to take a touch past the defender and slot in on his left foot.
At the other end, Jake Coomes got QPR back in the contest with their second on 54 minutes.
McMillan was back at it shortly after, finding the back of the net for the second time with a well-taken strike. A turnover in possession saw Reuben Reid fire a perfectly-weighted pass over the defence for Bradley Tagoe to run onto and the winger cut his pass back across the box for McMillan, who restored the young Addicks' two-goal advantage.
Skipper Jacob Safa was next to net, this time with a sensational strike from the edge of the box. An initial pass was fizzed into the feet of the midfielder, allowing him to turn and drive goalwards before firing a sublime strike into the bottom corner.
Sanyaolu fired in his second, and the visitors’ third, with 10 minutes left on the clock with a well place volleyed effort from distance.
In stoppage-time, Tagoe turned scorer. Fine footwork from Reid saw him spread it wide to Tagoe, who cut in on his left and fired a low strike goalwards, which trickled in to round off the scoring.
The young Addicks return to Sparrows Lane to host hosting Cardiff City (KO 1pm GMT).
