U18 REPORT | Charlton 7 Queens Park Rangers 1

'

Charlton's U18s claimed a comprehensive 7-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Sparrows Lane on Saturday.

A blistering opening half-hour saw the young Addicks earn a 4-1 lead in New Eltham and the hosts showed no signs of letting up after the restart, adding another three goals as Danny Senda's side earned a third successive win across all competitions in fine fashion.

It took just four minutes for Charlton to open the scoring. Goalkeeper Henry Molyneux fed Kai Enslin down the left flank with a precise long pass and the wideman drove to the byline before hanging up a cross to the far post, which was turned home by Henry Rylah.

Rylah doubled the Addicks' advantage just six minutes later, this time heading home Toby Bower's inswinging cross from close range.

QPR's left-back halved the visitors' arrears when his effort beat Molyneux at his near post, though Ryan Huke restored Charlton's two-goal lead on 25 minutes.

Enslin provided the assist with a diagonal ball into the channel for the advancing Huke, who rounded the onrushing goalkeeper and finished with aplomb on the angle.

Bower added a fourth from the penalty spot moments later, coolly placing the ball into the bottom-right corner to leave the Rs stopper, who guessed the right way, with no chance.

The Addicks continued to dominate proceedings after the restart but were forced to wait until 71 minutes for a fifth. Brook Myers showed great anticipation to intercept a loose pass before opening up his body and curling into the bottom corner with an exquisite finish from 20 yards.

Five became six 12 minutes from time as substitute Ralfi Hand pounced on a loose ball following an Addicks corner and finished well on the turn.

There was still time for Jadon Yamoah to add further gloss to the scoreline late on, as the substitute headed home Bower's centre to round off a ruthless display from Senda's side.
