Micah Mbick bagged another brace as Charlton’s U18s earned a 4-1 victory at Coventry City on Saturday.
Ethan Brown and Ellis McMillan were also on the scoresheet as Jason Pearce’s side extended their unbeaten run to seven matches.
Mbick broke the deadlock on 40 minutes, rifling home from close range after being picked out by Emmanuel Sol-Loza.
The in-form forward doubled his and Charlton’s tally just moments later. Alan Mwamba did superbly to keep the ball in play and find Mbick, who opened up his body and steered the ball into the bottom-right corner.
Alfie Wright halved the hosts’ deficit within a minute of the restart, but Brown restored the young Addicks’ two-goal advantage on 65 minutes, converting fellow wing-back Bradley Tagoe’s cross.
Substitute McMillan added further gloss to the scoreline in the final minute of normal time, stroking home Mwamba’s pull-back from eight yards.
The U18s are next in action on Saturday when they take on Hull City at Sparrows Lane (KO 11am).
