Charlton's U18s suffered a 3-1 defeat at Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.
Morgan Bates gave the hosts the lead in south Wales on 14 minutes, poking home from close range from close range after Oscar Varney had kept out Josh Pescatore's effort.
Callum Jones added the Swans' second on the stroke of half-time when he cut on to his right foot and fired into the bottom-right corner.
Ellis McMillan halved the young Addicks' deficit seven minutes into the second period. After receiving Shia-Lee Burnham's pass, the youngster showed superb skill to shift the ball on to his left foot before coolly converting.
Charlton continued to push for parity thereafter, but Swansea restored their two-goal cushion 10 minutes from time through Ramon Rees-Siso, who headed home fellow substitute Bobo Evans' cross.
Up next for Jason Pearce's team is a trip to Wigan Athletic on Saturday, March 29th (KO 11am GMT).
