Charlton U18s' Professional Development League play-off semi-final against Barnsley has been confirmed for Saturday, May 18th at Sparrows Lane (KO 2pm BST).
Jason Pearce’s side reached this stage by winning the PDL2 - South title again this week. The young Addicks’ 3-0 victory over Bournemouth secured their fourth league title in as many years with a game to spare.
It means they will take on Barnsley, the runners-up from the PDL2 - North, in a repeat of last year’s play-off final. Charlton were beaten on penalties last time around, but Pearce has insisted that his players will treat the fixture as just another game.
Should Charlton progress, they will face either Birmingham City or Bristol City in the final. Star strikers Patrick Casey and Micah Mbick will be hoping to propel the young Addicks all the way, with the pair currently sitting on 40 and 42 goals for the season respectively.
