Ahead of the start of their season this weekend, Jason Pearce’s U18s side took a trip to the Charlton Athletic Museum to learn more about what it means to represent the club.

Taking in everything from the old fences from The Valley all the way to the club’s Hall of Fame, the scholars discussed the club’s rich history and took photos with trophies and retro kits.

Striker Micah Mbick said: “It’s nice taking in the culture of the club, seeing how far it’s come. It’s a great experience.”

Mbick, who was the first to answer when the squad was quizzed on what year Charlton won the FA Cup, added: “I know the history well. The FA Cup is a big one that we always talk about, so that’s one I remember!”

Defender Ethan Brown added: “Being here is a great experience. I’ve been at this club for a number of years. We all know there’s a lot of history at this club, so it’s good to see it.

“As soon as I walked in I saw the picture of the first Charlton team, which was interesting. At first you’d think they would be men, so it’s interesting to see they’re younger than us!”
