U21 CUP REPORT | Fisher 1 Charlton 6

'

Charlton's U21s kicked off their 2024/25 London Senior Cup campaign with a convincing 6-1 win against Fisher at the St Paul’s Sports Ground on Tuesday night.

There were five different goalscorers for the young Addicks, who have won back-to-back London Senior Cups, with Toby Bower bagging a brace.

It took just eight minutes for Chris Lock’s side to establish their lead as Bradley Tagoe’s cross was met by Henry Rylah, who coolly converted.

Bower added a second five minutes before the interval, when Ollie Hobden slipped a pass across to Bower on the edge of the box, allowing the full-back to rifle a low strike into the corner.

The hosts pulled one back within minutes of the restart as Tate Elliott was penalised for a challenge in the box. The Fisher man stepped up from 12 yards and slotted his strike into the bottom-right corner.

Charlton responded in quick fashion with Bower re-establishing his side's two-goal cushion ahead of the hour mark, driving into the area and firing low across goal to secure his brace.

Ethan Brown was next to net for the young Addicks. Harvey Kedwell swung a delightful corner delivery into the box and the substitute towered above his marker to head home Charlton's fourth.

Brown turned provider with 13 minutes left on the clock as his cross fell to Tagoe who was lurking in the area. The winger was able to take it down and round the keeper, slotting into an empty net.

The young Addicks rounded off the scoring in the 86th minute as a scramble in the box saw the ball fall to Ibrahim Fullah, who converted from close range.

The U21s return to Premier League Cup action in their next encounter with a trip to Stockport County on Sunday afternoon (KO 2pm GMT).
