U21 PREVIEW | Barnsley v Charlton

Charlton Athletic U21s Lead Coach Chris Lock before the Sky Bet League 1 match between Shrewsbury Town and Charlton Athletic at The Croud Meadow, Shrewsbury

Charlton’s U21s are back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Yorkshire to face Barnsley (KO 2pm BST).

The young Addicks come into the match looking for back-to-back wins to start the season, having claimed a 4-2 victory over Wigan Athletic in their first game.

Much of Chris Lock’s squad will have fond memories of facing Barnsley in recent times, having beaten the Tykes’ 5-3 at U18 level in last season’s Professional Development League Two play-off semi-final.

In particular, Patrick Casey scored that day and will be looking to add to his goal against Wigan on the opening day.
