Charlton's U21s shared the spoils with Colchester United in a 2-2 draw at Colchester United on Friday night.
Ollie Hobden and Henry Rylah both netted for the young Addicks at the Wallace Binder Stadium.
Chris Lock’s side broke the deadlock on 43 minutes, when Bradley Tagoe’s inch-perfect cross found Hobden, who slotted in at the back post.
Charlton's lead lasted a mere two minutes as the hosts drew level through Trialist A, who picked up the ball on the halfway line, took it past two Addicks defenders and curled his shot into the bottom corner.
It was a superb response from the young Addicks as they reclaimed the lead just moments after the restart. A cross from the left-flank was parried into the path of Rylah who made no mistake.
The hosts were then reduced to 10 men after Archie Oliver brought down Henry Rylah as the forward burst down the flank with his blistering pace.
It was an action-packed end to the encounter as the home side levelled the scoring once again with 13 minutes remaining. Joel Thompson’s free-kick was swung into the Charlton box, where Alfie Newby was on hand to equalise.
With three minutes remaining of the 90, the young Addicks were also reduced to 10 men as Harvey Kedwell was shown a second yellow card.
Up next for the U21s is a trip to Stockport County in the Premier League Cup on Sunday, November 10th (KO 2pm GMT).
