Charlton's U21s recorded their third win on the bounce with an impressive 5-1 triumph against Ipswich Town in Suffolk.
Kaheim Dixon and Patrick Casey both netted braces at the Ipswich Town Training Centre, with Ryan Huke also netting with a tidy finish.
Dixon was first to net against the Tractor Boys, following in after Ollie Hobden’s initial strike was parried into the path of the promising forward, allowing him to convert from close range.
Just seven minutes later, the young Addicks had their second, this time from the spot. Kai Enslin was brought down in the box, allowing Patrick Casey to slot in from 12 yards with a cool finish.
Charlton made it three on the cusp of the interval following a neat move from Chris Lock’s side. Enslin fizzed a pass into the path of Hobden who then teed up Huke and the midfielder found the back of the net with a well-placed strike.
Dixon was at the double on the hour mark following some quick thinking from the young Addicks. A free-kick was taken quickly to Enslin out wide and he drove goalwards, before squaring for Dixon who slotted in after a scramble in the box.
Casey rounded off the scoring nine minutes from time, combining with Enslin once again. The wing-back drove forward, sliding a pass into the path of Casey, allowing for a neat finish to claim his brace.
The hosts pulled one back in the dying embers as Steven Turner’s looped cross was met by Dan Babb at the back post, whose header clipped the post on the way in.
Lock’s side return to action next Tuesday when they host Stockport County at Princes Park in the Premier League Cup (KO 7pm GMT).
