George Jones reports
Adam Chicksen is thrilled to be working with Karl Robinson again.
The versatile left-sider, who played 90 minutes in Saturday’s draw at Bradford City, excelled under the stewardship of the Addicks boss at Milton Keynes Dons between 2010 and 2013.
And he says that he Robinson’s enthusiasm and passion for the game make him a great Manager to work under.
“When I first worked with him, he had only just become a Manager and that enthusiasm is still within him,” said Chicksen. “He gets the lads going, he knows where he wants to be, how he wants to play and, as a team, that is what you need.
“You need that direction going forward and that is what we have got.
“The lads have understood Karl’s ideas straight away, we’ve got right on board, have worked hard in training and, personally, I’ve got my head down to make sure that I am ready when called upon.”
Chicksen put in a solid performance at the weekend and he felt that all of his teammates gave everything that they had.
He said: “We had the energy that we needed going forward in the game. We broke quickly, we had a game plan that we had worked on all week and I thought we executed it down to a T. If those chances in the first half had gone in, it would have been a perfect game plan.”
