Stephy Mavididi has returned to Arsenal after it was confirmed that the injury he sustained during Saturday's defeat to Bury will keep him out for the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old forward impressed for the Addicks during his short time on loan from the Gunners, but a scan has revealed a torn hamstring that will see him sidelined for at least three months.
"He saw a specialist last night and he's set for an operation at the start of next week, but it will keep him out for between 14-16 weeks," explained Valley boss Karl Robinson.
"He's been in tears which is sickening because he's been tremendous for us and we wish him all the best.
"He'a been a credit to his family and to Arsenal FC and we'd love to have him back next year."
Meanwhile, a grade-two hamstring injury could keep Jake Forster-Caskey sidelined for as many as four weeks, while Harry Lennon has stepped up his rehabilitation from a groin injury and could return to training within the next four weeks.
Elsewhere, Adam Chicksen is set to return to training on Thursday after recovering from a ligament strain, while Jason Pearce will be hoping to get some minutes under his belt for the U23s in the next two weeks, but Roger Johnson has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after picking up an injury in training last month.
