AWAY FANS' GUIDE | Sixfields Stadium

Tickets

Around 1,300 Addicks will be in attendance - tickets won't be available to buy on the day.

Turnstiles

We are situated behind the goal in the Moulton College (South) Stand, with additional seating in the Family Area in the East Stand. It is a classic, functional stadium on the periphery of the town, a single tiered stand with an unimpeded view, surrounded by grass banks, so it has a slight "bowl" feel about it. There are gaps dotted around to provide scope for development, but all in all I found my previous visit to be an enjoyable experience, although there wasn't the added pressure of my own team playing!

Food

Out of town - you've guessed it - retail park, although it is more of a leisure complex. I am reliably informed that they used to do a nice curry there and even Christmas dinner (albeit not on a matchday) but that seems to have discontinued. Therefore around the ground you will find all of the usual suspects - I couldn't find a chippie, though.

Refreshments

In a strange parallel with Rochdale, the closest pub to the ground has now been burnt down, so in the immediate vicinity the food places that sell alcohol are the most readily available, a couple of which have pub-like areas rather than just eateries. There is also a bar in the nearby bowling alley. Carr's Bar at the ground may admit away fans but it is a case of wait and see. Upon arrival into the town, there are some very nice places indeed, quite homely, plus sports bar type places - really whatever floats your boat is pretty much on hand.

Travel

The Post Code is NN5 5QA. Simply take the M1 north, leave at Junction 15A, take the A43 towards Northampton and you can't miss it. Parking is available at the ground and seemed plentiful, a couple of private car parks are also in the area.

Given the proximity to the motorway, it is a bit of a distance from the train station to the ground. There is a taxi rank outside and bus D2 takes you to the retail park. Admittedly, I took a leisurely stroll via the town on my last visit, but it is walkable if you fancy it directly from the station. If you come out of the station, you will see some steps, do a right at the top of these. Keep going until you find the Thomas A'Beckett pub and turn left onto St James' Mill Road, right onto Harvey Reeves Road and keep going.
