Jason Euell’s U23s threw away a two-goal lead as Crystal Palace staged a second-half comeback to claim a point at the DGS Marine Stadium on Monday.
Charlton took control of the first half, going ahead after 15 minutes through Alfie Doughty, who fired past stopper Kleton Perntreou at his near post as the U18s midfielder celebrated his first development squad goal.
The Addicks continued to dominate possession and doubled their lead on the half-hour mark thanks to a spectacular strike from Louis Yamfam.
The tricky forward picked up possession before lashing a fantastic finish into the top right-hand corner to put his side seemingly in control.
However, after the hosts made a double switch at the break, the Eagles started to creep back into the game in the second period. They reduced their deficit to a single goal in the 67th minute when Palace first-teamer Chung-Yong Lee went down in the box, leaving Nya Kirby to step up and stroke home the resulting penalty.
And the Addicks south-London rivals completed their turnaround late on with Lee heavily involved once again, crossing for teammate Lumi Lumeka to head past Dimitar Mitov.
