PREVIEW | Charlton v Swindon Town

The Addicks do not have any fresh injury concerns for the match and Karl Robinson confirmed his intended starting XI in his pre-match press conference.

Charlton will remain without long-term absentees Harry Lennon, Lewis Page, Roger Johnson and Ahmed Kashi.

For Swindon, captain Nathan Thompson will miss out with a heel injury, which could hand an opportunity to Jesse Starkey.


Charlton and Swindon Town have met 60 times in the past, with the Addicks coming out on top on 26 occasions. Town have been victorious 15 times, while there have also been 19 draws.

The Robins won this season’s reverse fixture and they were also victorious on their last visit to SE7, which came in January 2010. 


Charlton Manager Karl Robinson: “Dec will be in goal. Sols will be at right-back, Patrick Bauer, Jason Pearce and Jay Dasilva will also be in the back four.

“Jacko, Andrew Crofts, Jake Forster-Caskey and then Nathan Byrne, Josh Magennis and Ricky Holmes. It’s a strong team.

“I’ve named a team early a few times before and from that I think you can see that I want to win the game. I want to put a strong-minded side out and we want the three points.

Swindon Town defender Dion Conroy: “We’ve been relegated so none of us are all smiles but we have to get on with it and we have to prepare right for Sunday and hopefully go out on a high.

“The game on Sunday is about finishing the season on a high note. Hopefully we can play some good football and give the fans something to cheer about.

“We then need to start looking forward to next season.”


John Brooks will take charge of Sunday’s match at The Valley.

So far this season, he has overseen 34 matches – 13 of which have come in League One – where he has brandished 147 yellow cards and 10 reds.

Brooks has officiated the Addicks once before, for our Checkatrade Trophy group match at Colchester United in November.

He will be supported by linesmen Rob Smith and John Law and fourth official Nicholas Cooper.
