Up to 70 Charlton Athletic supporters will camp on the pitch at The Valley on Sunday.
Season ticket holders and Young Reds aged 7-11 will get the chance to pitch up on the famous turf. As part of the event youngsters will also get to watch a film, meet the club’s mascots Sir Valiant and Robyn and take part in some fun and games.
Club Development manager Lisa Squires said: “We’re really pleased to be able to offer an event like this for the first time. We’ve had a very good response from those wanting to take part, kids and parents alike. We’re now hoping the weather holds up for us on Sunday.”
The event takes place following the FA Women’s Premier League Championship Play-Off final which kicks-off at The Valley at 2pm on Sunday. That match sees Blackburn Rovers take on Tottenham Hotspur to determine the overall FA WPL champions. The champions earn the right to promotion to FA Women’s Super League 2, subject to meeting licence criteria.
Next week work will begin on relaying the pitch for next season.
