While the Addicks secured a win on the pitch on Saturday, George Lapslie was unable to replicate that against young opponents on FIFA in the Family Activity Zone before the game.
The talented central midfielder, who scored on his first team debut last month, let his young opponents play as his boyhood team Charlton while he played as Colchester United in a 1-1 draw.
It was a busy day for Lapslie, which begun with him visiting the club shop to have his photo taken with fans. He then took part in a Q&A with Charlton supporters in the Vista Lounge where he talked about how he felt scoring that goal, his boyhood Charlton heroes and explained his biggest fans are his mum and grandmother.
He took more photos with fans in the busy Family Activity Zone before settling down to a game of FIFA against his young opponents.
Club development manager Lisa Squires said: “It was great to see George in the Family Activity Zone, the kids really loved having him there and getting the chance to play FIFA against him.
“It will be interesting to see if any of his teammates can score more goals when they come in around upcoming home games.”
