Josh Magennis has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their World Cup play-off against Switzerland.
The Green and White Army face two matches against the Swiss – one at home and one away – and the victor will earn a place at the summer showpiece in Russia.
They will host Switzerland on Thursday, November 9th before travelling to Europe three days later.
Northern Ireland finished as runners-up in European qualifying Group C, finishing only behind world champions Germany.
Magennis found the net three times during their regular qualifying campaign, scoring twice away against San Marino and once against the Germans in Belfast.
Northern Ireland were unseeded in the draw for the play-offs, which took place at FIFA’s Headquarters in Zurich. The others European ties saw the Republic of Ireland drawn against Denmark, Croatia against Greece and Sweden against Italy.
Magennis’ call-up means that Charlton’s fixture against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, November 11th could be postponed. The Addicks need to receive two more international call-ups in order to have the right to postponed the match.
