Academy graduate Ezri Konsa hailed his side’s performance following their hard-fought draw at league-leaders Wigan Athletic on Friday night.
Heading into the match, the Latics had bagged 16 goals in their previous five games but Charlton kept them at bay to record an important point on the road.
And following the match – the Addicks’ final 90 minutes of 2017 – England U20 international praised his team’s response from the Boxing Day defeat to Southend United.
“It was a great performance from the lads,” he told Valley Pass. “I thought every one of us was outstanding, we all stuck together and it was a good result to bounce back from Tuesday’s game, coming away to Wigan who are top of the league.
“We let ourselves down on Tuesday but we had a meeting the other day about how we could resolve things. The lads stuck together tonight and we were brilliant.
“Coming here without a lot of our key players, we have got a good point and this can be a stepping stone for our next game on Monday.”
