Charlton have not had too much luck when it’s come to scoring against Bury in recent years.
In fact, the Addicks have only rippled the Shakers’ net four times since 1975, albeit the two clubs have met just 10 times during that period of time.
Karl Robinson’s men travel to Gigg Lane on Saturday to face the Sky Bet League One strugglers and ahead of the clash supporters can view those four strikes on Valley Pass’ unrivalled archive.
Every single competitive Charlton goal from the last 25 seasons is available to view on the archive and, below, you can view a last-gasp stunner, a comeback victory and a powerful header…
Back in January of 2012, when Bury came to The Valley, a stupendous, 30-yard strike from Dale Stephens in the final minute of stoppage time rescued a valuable point, which meant the Addicks continued to fly high at the top of the League One table in a season where they would, of course, go on to be crowned champions.
After trailing 1-0 at half time, a terrific cross from Johnnie Jackson was met with a strong header from Paul Hayes, sparking a great comeback at Gigg Lane in August 2011.
Completing the turnaround that day in 2011 was Johnnie Jackson, who struck a superb, first-time finish from the edge of the box following a defence splitting through ball from Dale Stephens. The Addicks won the game 2-1 and extended their unbeaten start to that season to six games.
In September of this season, strong play down the left from Billy Clarke saw him lay the ball off to Jake Forster-Caskey, who stood a fine cross up for Josh Magennis to power home with his head to equalise in game that ended 1-1 at The Valley.
