A delighted Lee Bowyer thanked The Valley faithful after a convincing 2-0 win over play-off rivals Plymouth Argyle.
The win moved the Addicks within two points of the play-off spots with a game in hand.
Speaking after the game Bowyer said: “It was a bit of a fairytale. Obviously I started here as a player and I was getting clapped off and then now obviously as a Manager. I’m really grateful to the fans.
“They were outstanding today, as well as the players. I think some fans don’t realise how important they are. No matter what is happening in and around anywhere just support the lads and you will get more out of them. As bad as that sounds, and it shouldn’t be the case. I know because I was a player and once they sang my name, you get something from somewhere, especially when you are getting tired. So I’d like to thank them for their support today."
