Bowyer: "Fans were outstanding and we need them next week"

2,448 Charlton fans packed the away end at Fratton Park yesterday and were in full voice throughout the 1-0 win at Portsmouth.

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer was grateful for their contribution to the win and speaking after the game he asked for the same again next week at home to Blackburn.

He said: "The fans were outstanding. They filled that away end and they didn’t stop singing for 96 minutes (including stoppage time). I’m very grateful and the lads need them, even more so next Saturday I want them to turn up and get behind them.

"I would like the fans to come down and support us. It’ll be our last home game of the season – well, hopefully not – and just come and get behind us and push us over the line.

"We have two games left and the rewards are massive."

Tickets for the Blackburn game are on restricted sale and can be purchased here.
