Ezri Konsa has joined Championship side Brentford for an undisclosed fee.
The Charlton academy graduate joined the club as an U11 in 2009 and recently helped England U21s to victory at the Toulon Tournament.
The switch to west London ends Konsa’s nine-year association with the Addicks and, upon his departure, the defender had the following message.
He said: “Charlton has played such a huge part in my life and I want to thank people like Steve Avory, Joe Francis and Jason Euell for all of the help and guidance they have given me over the years.
“I joined this club when I was an U11 and it means a lot to me to be able to say that I came from Charlton’s academy. I wish the club and the fans all the success in the future and now I’m looking forward to a new challenge and testing myself in the Championship.”
In total, Konsa made 86 appearances for the Addicks and was voted by supporters as their Young Player of the Year for 2016/17.
Everyone at Charlton wishes him well in his future career.
