Charlton U11s coach Kieran Culleton, his girlfriend Lauren and sister-in-law Vicky will be embarking on a monumental challenge next week to help raise funds and awareness for charity A Gift to Lift.
Across seven days, the trio will be cycling an enormous 576 miles – visiting 26 clubs from Premier League to non-league level – all in aid of the charity which provides support for people with blood cancer.
A Gift to Lift provide gifts and experiences for those suffering with the illness and Kieran and co are hoping to raise £5,000, which will go towards the purchase of a holiday home. To donate to the charity, please click here.
Starting off at Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium on Monday, June 18th, they will cycle an average of 91 miles in the first six days, as they visit the likes of Old Trafford, the Etihad Stadium, Molineux and the King Power Stadium.
The Valley will be the final stop off on day six and starting point on day seven, the final day, and ahead of the challenge Kieran said that the group are all eager to get started.
Kieran said: “Vicky, Lauren & myself are equally as excited and nervous for the seven days but have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity that we have received. That support will drive us on during the hard times on the ride.
“I have seen the incredible work done by Jacky, who runs A Gift to Lift alongside Lauren, Vicky and many other trustees, and I’ve always wanted to do something incredible to help them reach their £300,000 target in order to buy a holiday home.
“Everyone has said we must be mad [to do the ride] but deep down I couldn’t be more excited to see all of the stadiums.”
Vicky added: “We lost our amazing friend Alex to blood cancer a few years ago and she founded AGTL shortly before she passed away. We are even more determined to help fulfil her dream of buying a holiday home for patients and their families."
