The Charlton Women’s team are pleased to announce that Harley Bennett and Nicole Pepper have re-signed for next season, as preparations for our first season in the FA Women’s Championship continue.
Six players have now committed to the club for the 2018/19 season, with Grace Coombs, Georgia Griffin, Chloe Brunton-Wilde and Charley Clifford having penned deals in recent weeks.
Having previously played for the Addicks before taking a break from football, Bennett re-joined the club in April this year and became a regular in central midfield as the team pushed for promotion.
Pepper joined at the end of the 2016/17 season and was named joint-winner of the Most Improved Player Award last term. She's now looking forward to the campaign ahead.
Reflecting on the successes of last season, Pepper said: “I don’t think it could have been more successful
“As a team we set out at the beginning of the season to win the league and battle for promotion, and we did just that.”
The excitement around next season is increasing, and defender Pepper can’t wait to get stuck into it all.
“To play against big names is a great feeling. We’ve got the chance to show people how we can compete with those big teams and I’m sure everyone involved in the club is relishing the prospect.
“I want to continue to work hard to improve my individual game, to regularly feature in the starting 11… maybe get a few more goals”
