The Charlton Women’s team are delighted to announce the signing of striker Gemma Bryan from Crystal Palace Ladies. Bryan becomes the first new Women’s team signing of the summer.
It’s a return to the red side of South East London for Bryan, who spent four years with the club between 2008 and 2012, scoring 63 goals from 95 games.
Having netted 31 league goals last season, Bryan was pipped to the FA Women’s Premier League South Golden Boot award by just one goal by new team mate Kit Graham. In three seasons with Palace, Bryan scored 104 goals from 71 appearances in all competitions.
Speaking with the club Bryan is pleased to have got the deal over the line.
“Charlton had a really good season last year, gaining promotion so I’m looking forward to being part of what the team is building on in the future” said Bryan
“Working with the management I want to improve myself as a player and join the attack as we have the leading goal scorers in the southern division.”
Manager Riteesh Mishra was pleased to make his first new signing of the season
"Gemma is a player we’ve known for a while and someone who has been on our radar." said Mishra
"She has a lot of qualities that will add to our forward play, and I think she’s someone who sparks fear into opponents.
"I'm excited and pleased she’s decided to join us, I think we can help her improve her game to get even better.
"She is one of a number of players we are bringing in to add to our current squad, to help us be competitive in what is going to be a really tough challenge for us this season as a newly promoted team."
