Lee Bowyer says that Charlton’s starting XI at Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday night will mainly consist of players from the club’s U23s squad.
The Addicks take on the Dons at Stadium MK in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
Bowyer’s squad recorded a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town at the weekend and, speaking after the game, he revealed that he plans to ring the changes for the cup clash.
“I’m going to play near enough all youngsters,” he said. “Nicky Ajose will be the only [outfield] senior player.
“Anfernee Dijksteel – who is still one of the youngsters – Taylor Maloney and Albie Morgan will all play. Apart from that, it will be U23s.”
Tickets for the Carabao Cup tie will be on sale from Stadium MK and supporters unable to attend the game can tune into live commentary on Valley Pass. A matchday pass gives you 48 hours access and costs just £4, alternatively, a monthly pass costs £6.50, while a season pass offers best value, priced at £60.
