Lee Bowyer is hoping to bring in two players ahead of this week’s loan deadline.
The window closes at 5pm on Friday (August 31st) and the Addicks caretaker boss said at the weekend that he hoped to have a player in on Monday.
Bowyer explained: “We were hoping to bring in a player at the start of the week but the club we’re loaning him from said: ‘Look, we need him for the cup game’. I’m still confident we’ll bring him in, the deal is all in place, so we’ll hopefully sort everything out after the cup game. Like when we brought Krystian (Bielik) in (from Arsenal), we just need to be patient to get the quality of player we really want."
Bowyer added: “There is another one (player) we are negotiating with at the moment.”
