At the start of the season BETDAQ launched the #PrideOfTheValley to reward die-hard Charlton fans. Each home league game, a supporter is selected to win the reward and the individual will be presented with a signed shirt on the pitch.
This week, the award goes to 23-year-old Keiron Hollister who is such a big Charlton fan that he chose The Valley as the location to propose to his girlfriend Lauren at Tuesday’s Checkatrade Trophy game against her team Wimbledon. She said yes and they are now engaged!
Why I became a Charlton fan: I became a Charlton fan because it was a local team that my grandad took me to when I was young.
My first game at the valley was: Against Chelsea December 22nd 2003 when we did ‘em 4-2.
On 25th May 1998 I was: Three years old .
My favourite Charlton game was: The last game of the 2011/12 season when we achieved promotion.
My favourite Charlton player: Has to be Johnnie Jackson because he’s experienced, a master with the ball and always gives 110% for the club.
My favourite kit was: Actually a keeper kit the 2014/15 orange one mainly because it was bright and it got filthy throughout that season.
The best part about being a Charlton fan is: That the club is so welcoming towards all fans and no matter how long you’ve been away you turn up to a game and you feel home.
My Charlton starting XI would be: GK Dillon Phillips Defence Chris Solly, Naby Sarr, Patrick Bauer, Lewis Page; Midfield Joe Aribo, Mark Marshall, Johnnie Jackson (has to be), Jake Forster-Caskey; Strikers: Igor Vetokele (nice to see him back in the team), Nicky Ajose.
My player of the season: Has to be Chris Solly just because he’s another one who works hard and isn’t afraid to get stuck in.
The game I was most looking forward to: Was the game on Tuesday against AFC Wimbledon for obvious reasons now I can’t wait for the rematch with them to get some payback!
