Charlton’s U23s recorded a point in Professional Development League 2 South on Monday afternoon as they were held to a draw by Watford.
In a closely-contested game at Greenwich Borough’s DGS Marine Stadium, chances were at a premium and the stalemate secured a second clean sheet of the season for Jason Euell’s side.
The result leaves the young Addicks seventh in PDL2 South and they will next be in action on Monday, October 1st when they take on local rivals Millwall.
Charlton had a decent chance to take the lead against the Hornets when full-back Dan Birch had a sight of goal from a tight angle but visiting goalkeeper Sam Howes made a brave stop.
Ben Dempsey was denied by a good block in the second half and, at the other end, Watford almost pinched a winner when Michael Folivi struck the angle of post and bar with a well-directed shot.
Charlton U23s: Maynard-Brewer, Stevenson, Birch, Cummings, Blumberg, Maloney, Sarpong-Wiredu, Dempsey, Morgan, Ocran, Anderson.
Subs: Osaghae, Zemura, Carey, Baghuelou.
