Darren Pratley says that Charlton should not look any further ahead than Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash against Doncaster Rovers at The Valley.
The Addicks were beaten 1-0 by Rochdale on Saturday and experienced midfield man Pratley – who started at centre-back at the weekend – insists that the Addicks should be taking things game-by-game, as they bid to return to winning ways.
“You want to be in and around it but nobody wins the league now - it’s not even November yet,” Pratley said. “As a whole, we need to concentrate game by game and stop looking too far ahead.
“We need to take it game by game and make that our main focus. Maybe we’re looking too much at the top two but we need to concentrate on the next game, get the three points and then move on.
“We have to regroup and go again. We’ve got a tough game at home to Doncaster on Saturday and ideally we’d have a game on Tuesday because we want to put things right.
“The games come thick and fast in this league. We’ve got to stay positive and it’s still early doors. Just over a quarter of the season has gone and hopefully we can put it right next week.”
