Lee Bowyer has praised Joe Aribo after the young midfielder was nominated for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award following some outstanding displays in November.
The Addicks boss was delighted to see his middle man receive recognition after he played his part towards four straight league victories last month which has earned Bowyer his own recognition in the form of Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month nomination, and he is hoping to see the 22-year-old round off a fine month by scooping the award.
“This month has proven just how much he is improving as a player,” said Bowyer.
“He has been outstanding for us and he’s improving all the time. For myself and Jacko to see him getting recognised now, and to be in the running for an award like that, shows how much he has come on and that is just as rewarding for me as a coach then being nominated for an award myself.”
“Hopefully he will get it,” he added.
“But if not, it will only be a matter of time before he does get an award like that.”
Aribo is up against Gillingham’s Tom Eaves, Portsmouth’s Gareth Evans, Wycombe Wanderers’ Joe Jacobson, Luton Town’s Elliott Lee and Sunderland’s Aiden McGeady.
Voting closes at 8am on Thursday, December 6th and you can cast your vote for Joe by clicking here.
