AWAY FANS' GUIDE | Oakwell

Heading to Barnsley on Saturday? Here's everything you need to know about an away day at Oakwell...

The travelling Addicks will be situated in the North Stand behind the goal. It is a fairly modern stand with good facilities and a good view of the action.

The concourse is of good size and there is also an outdoor smoking area available to fans.

The stadium is not far from the town centre (about a 10-minute walk) so there are plenty of options to choose from there and the usual fare will be available inside the ground.

Meanwhile, the leisure centre down the road, the Metro Dome, has a bar that serves food as well as alcohol.

The aforementioned Metro Dome is an option, while the Coach and Horses and East Deane Working Men’s Club, both on Doncaster Road, welcome away fans. The Dove Inn is an outlet for the Old Mill Brewery and is also recommended.

There is a Wetherspoon’s in the town centre, although drinking in the centre of town, particularly wearing colours, is not recommended.

Postcode is S71 1ET. In between the ground and the Metro Dome is a car park for visiting supporters called Queens Ground, which charges £5 for parking.

Alternatively, there is street parking nearby. Just be sure to check any signage as necessary.

Barnsley Station is a 10-minute walk from Oakwell with trains served from Sheffield and Leeds. Supporters should note that industrial action will be affecting Northern rail services on December 29th with strikes meaning services are heavily reduced.

Tickets will be available from the ground on Saturday. Only adult, over 65 and U22 tickets will be on sale.
