Charlton will go toe-to-toe with one of their promotion rivals on Saturday when they head to Yorkshire to face Barnsley at Oakwell (3pm).
The Addicks suffered a rare defeat on Boxing Day, losing late on against Coventry City, having won seven of their previous eight Sky Bet League One matches before that.
Saturday’s game presents Lee Bowyer’s squad with the chance to bounce back and also secure a league double over the team that they beat so impressively at The Valley in the autumn.
Barnsley will come into the match in impressive form themselves. They beat Peterborough United on Boxing Day and now only sit one point behind the fourth-placed Addicks.
Fans unable to attend Saturday's clash can listen to live audio commentary on Valley Pass.
Charlton will be without Joe Aribo and George Lapslie on Saturday. Aribo is still sidelined with a knee problem and Lapslie picked up a head injury against Coventry on Boxing Day.
Shoulder injuries keep out Josh Cullen and Igor Vetokele, while Naby Sarr will miss out through suspension. Lewis Page has a hip injury and long-term absentee Jake Forster-Caskey remains out with his ACL knee injury. Jamie Ward could return.
For Barnsley, Kenny Dougall is available again after a recent injury but the game may come too soon for Ryan Hedges, who has a toe problem.
Charlton Manager Lee Bowyer: “It’s going to be a tough game – they all are – but I have no doubt that we’ll be prepared and ready for it. Barnsley are a physical team and they can play as well and we saw that when we played them at The Valley.”
Barnsley Manager Daniel Stendel: “I was delighted for the players [on Boxing Day] because they gave everything and deserved the reward of three points. We probably should have scored more goals but I’m not going to complain after a performance like that. That result now sets us up nicely for the weekend game.”
Saturday’s meeting at Oakwell will see Charlton and Barnsley compete against each other for the 50th time. The Addicks have come out on top in 19 of the previous 49 match-ups, while The Tykes have won on 16 occasions.
The two clubs’ last meeting came earlier this season. Karlan Grant netted a double as the Addicks earned a 2-0 victory at The Valley. Highlights of that match are available to view on Valley Pass.
Darren Bond will take charge of Saturday’s clash at Oakwell.
So far this season, he has overseen 20 matches – the majority of which have come in the Sky Bet Championship – where he has brandished 55 yellow cards and two reds.
He will be supported by assistant referees Andrew Fox and James Mainwaring and fourth official Andy Haines.
Charlton supporters will be able to buy from Oakwell. Pricing information is available to view below. Fans should note that only adult, over 65 and U22 prices will be on sale on Saturday.
Supporters can follow all the build-up to the game on Charlton's official Instagram account, official Twitter account, Facebook page and official Snapchat account.
