Lee Bowyer has revealed that Naby Sarr will now be on free-kick duty going forward following his superb leveller in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon.
With the Addicks 1-0 down, the Frenchman stepped up to curl a 51st-minute free-kick straight into the top left-hand corner to set his side on their way to completing a comeback for all three points in Kingston.
And Bowyer did not hesitate in insisting his centre-back will be taking the next one that falls his team’s way.
“He’s got a beautiful left foot,” purred the Charlton boss.
“That’s the first free-kick he’s taken for us and the first person to score one this season. We’ve had about six different triers and no one’s even hit the target.
“Then you’ve got a centre-half step up and he’s put it in the top corner, so I think he’ll be on them again next week. He’s got great ability and he’s in a good place in himself, as well.
“He’s playing well and defending excellently, so you’ve got to have confidence to do what he’s just done there.”
