Heading to Gillingham on Saturday? Here's everything you need to know about an away day at Priestfield Stadium...
The travelling Addicks will be situated in the ‘temporary’ structure behind the goal which is now named the Brian Moore Stand. The scaffold-like structure does not have a roof and is open to the elements, so check the forecast before leaving! The view is good and unobstructed, but the turnstiles can get congested in the run up to kick-off, so leave plenty of time to get into the ground to avoid missing kick-off.
Although the facilities in the away end are far from ideal, the usual fare is on offer. Away from the ground on Nelson Road is a good fish and chip shop and a Sainsbury’s Local nearby, while the town centre is not far away with the usual suspects available including Burger King and McDonald’s, as well as some nice cafes.
The Fleur de Lis is the only away-friendly pub in Gillingham. Another option is to head for one of the many options in Rochester before continuing your journey to Gillingham.
Postcode is ME7 4DD. Street parking in the immediate vicinity of the ground is difficult, but there are some nearby car parks, beside the train station and at the back of the high street. If you do want to chance your hand in the nearby streets, then be sure to check the signage.
Gillingham station is around a 10-minute walk to the stadium. Regular trains run from London Victoria via Bromley South. Alternatively, the Woolwich line from Charing Cross which stops at Dartford can also be picked up.
2,400 travelling Addicks will cheer their side on from a packed out away end with all tickets SOLD OUT!
