Charlton Athletic Women are delighted to announce the signing of Wales international midfielder Georgia Evans, who joins as a free agent.
Evans makes the move to the Addicks from former FA Women’s Super League side Yeovil Town Ladies, where she spent two years. The 23-year-old was a regular in the Glovers’ two campaigns in the top flight.
Evans previously spent six years with Bristol City Women, where she played 20 times in their first team, winning promotion from the FA Women’s Super League Two in 2016.
She began her career with Sporting Club Albion.
Speaking to the club, Georgia is looking forward to getting down to work.
“As soon as I came to the club and saw the facilities I made the decision and can’t wait to get started.” Said Evans
“It’s exciting to join the club. I came down last week, met Riteesh and I’ve been been training with the girls so I’m really excited for the season”
Manager Riteesh Mishra believes Evans will strengthen the squad.
“I think it’s a big message for someone like us as a club to be getting a player of Georgia’s calibre. It should give us confidence as a club that someone like her has decided to join us.”
"I know she would have had other options and opportunities but she will take us to another level with how we play and I’m delighted to have signed her.”
