Charlton Athletic’s brand new hummel home kit for the 2019/20 season has been revealed, with the strip celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the club’s home, The Valley.
The red shirt features a classic pinstripe design which harks back to the Addicks’ home strips worn between 1982 and 1986. Following fan consultations last season, the original pinstripe designs emerged as the most popular amongst supporters, leading hummel to design the new bespoke kit based on that feedback.
As well as the white pinstripes, there is more black injected into the design to reflect the club’s primary colours, with black and white detail featuring on the v-neck collar and cuffs, while the kit manufacturer’s classic bee logo features in black, as does the name of shirt sponsor Children with Cancer UK.
Other elements include a nod to the Valley’s centenary with a gold sword appearing on the back neck of the shirt, as well as on the back of the socks. Meanwhile, the words ‘100 years of the The Valley’ appear on the inside of the neck, while the lyrics to the supporters’ anthem ‘Valley Floyd Road’ are printed around the entire inside hem at the bottom of the shirt.
The shirt is complemented by white shorts which feature red detail, including hummel’s distinctive chevrons, while the red socks include a white fold-over hem.
Meanwhile, ITRM once again feature on the back of the shirts, while Cannon Glass appear on the back of the shorts.
The new home kit will be available to purchase both online and in person from the Valley Superstore from Thursday, July 18th.
Adult shirts will be priced £45, with shorts priced £25 and socks £12.
Kids shirts, meanwhile, will be priced £35, with shorts priced £20 and socks £12.
