Charlton’s pre-season campaign continues with a trip to Gillingham on Saturday afternoon (2pm).
The friendly at Priestfield Stadium is the third match of a busy week for the Addicks following the 2-1 defeat at Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday and the impressive 4-0 victory 24 hours later at Dagenham & Redbridge.
With Lee bowyer having split his players’ minutes between 60 and 30-minute shifts during the week, the boss is set to step things up against the Gills with the game coming just two weeks before the Championship’s big kick-off.
After making a return to the club on Thursday afternoon, Jonny Williams is set to feature, while former Addick Callum Harriott is likely to get more minutes as he continues to train with the club. Meanwhile, U23s including the in-form Brendan Wiredu, will continue to complement Bowyer’s squad.
Gillingham have made an impressive start to pre-season under new boss Steve Evans with three wins from three, so far. A 9-1 win at Faversham Town was followed by a 4-0 success over Folkstone Invicta last weekend, before earning a 2-1 victory at Dartford on Tuesday evening.
Tickets for the friendly match will be available from the Priestfield on the day priced £15 adult and £5 U18, while U12s go for free while accompanied by an adult.
