Tom Lockyer will make his Addicks debut today as Charlton begin the club’s first year back in the Championship at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers.
Fellow summer signings Ben Amos, Deji Oshilaja, Conor Gallagher and Macauley Bonne will be available to Lee Bowyer from the bench.
The Addicks are expected to line-up in the 3-2-diamond-1 formation that Bowyer has utilised at times during pre-season.
Dillon Phillips starts in goal with Lockyer, captain Jason Pearce and Naby Sarr likely to make up a back three.
Anfernee Dijksteel and Ben Purrington, who joined the club permanently in the summer, are expected to start as wing backs.
Jake Forster-Caskey, Darren Pratley, George Lapslie and Jonny Williams may operate as a diamond in midfield behind last season’s top goalscorer Lyle Taylor.
Chuks Aneke and Lewis Page miss the game through injury with Albie Morgan, Chris Solly and Brandon Wiredu joining the new boys on the bench.
